Electric Bike
All you need to know about electric bike battery

let’s talk about these batteries since they too are used in e-bikes. Li-ion batteries of the first generation were subject to explosive effects, literally. This was due to the fact that they used an anode of metallic lithium and during the charge-discharge, they could have a short circuit due to the formation of dendrites, which created conductive bridges and short-circuited the poles of an electric bike battery. The temperature inside the battery rose until it reached the melting point of lithium. As a result of the violent chemical interaction of lithium with an electrolyte, an explosion would occur.
Therefore, in order to safely use modern batteries for electric bikes, we now use special models that protect the electric bike battery cells from over-discharge, full discharge, overheating, which are called BMS.

What is the range of electric bikes?
The largest range of electric bicycles can reach up to 200-250 miles. This type of e-bikes is usually designed for long-distance rides and powered with 3 kW batteries. Standard electric bikes with smaller batteries (about 400-500W) can reach up to 60-75 miles without recharging. Electric bikes designed for city commuting can travel up to 30-40 miles till the charge is over.
As you might know, in 2017, Delfast officially revolutionized the e-bike market when Delfast Prime traveled 367 km (228 miles) on a single charge.
Volts, Watts, and Amp Hours: Understanding the Technicalities of Electric Bicycles

The electric bicycle, often referred to as the electric bike or e-bike, has revolutionized the way bicycles are used. In its simplest form, an e-bike is a bicycle with a pedal power electric bike motor to assist your riding. Just pedal as usual and the small motor will automatically engage. This is useful for situations in which you need a boost like riding uphill. You won’t notice any difference if compared to a regular bicycle, except for a more powerful feeling.
Some e-bikes include a throttle option that is activated with the press of a button. This additional mode allows you to feel even more power on a racing track. E-bikes are promising eco-friendly transportation that can replace driving shortly. They can be very fast to get from point A to point B. Unlike driving, you exercise your body in the process. So, if you are considering buying an e-bike, you must be able to understand their technical specs.
The key component of an e-bike is the electric bike motor. Most motors are built with similar technology. Hence, they are commonly characterized by the same set of parameters. Equally important is the battery. Batteries are also described by some electrical parameters. But, what are these parameters? What do they represent? What values should I choose for my needs? This article explains all the basics for you to understand these technical specifications.
